“CORREO” is the consolidated brand for three generations in the dairy field. The company, in fact, develops in an old farm in the territory of Carovigno, in the north Salento in the province of Brindisi, which covers an area of about 30 hectares between olive groves and land dedicated to grazing animals. The company is family owned. The production of cheeses is the flagship of the Masseria Correo together with the butchery and the production of homemade bread, taralli, frise, friselline, biscuits, orecchiette . In addition, for some years, the Correo company has obtained the recognition of Masseria Didattica all'Albo Regionale as it hosts schools and groups of visitors to discover agricultural work and activities that lead to the production of good and genuine products. It was 1961 when "grandfather Ciccio", already a farmer and breeder, bought the building body of the Correo farm with few neighboring lands. A small breeding of only sheep and cows was enough to produce artisan cheeses both for the needs of the family, and for the acquaintances who bought them, making the income of the family active, among many sacrifices. In the 80’s, the passion for this work was passed on to sons, who independently started to dedicate themselves to this agricultural work, increasing more and more what was a small production reality. Over time, even Donato and Liviana, have managed to pass on the enthusiasm of their work to their children, Francesco and Maria. The latter, today, together with their spouses, collaborate in the productive activity of their farm. Francesco, a certified agricultural expert, a great lover of horses, takes care of the welfare of the animals and the care of the land; Maria with experimental socio-psycho-pedagogical degree, deals with the sale of products in the company and the "educational" sector aimed at welcoming visitors to the farm. In short, our work force, with passion, enthusiasm and sacrifice, has always guaranteed the true quality and the true values of the peasant land, giving value to what is now the Correo brand.
